Travel Brochure

Behind Fiji

Behind Fiji is an eight page travel brochure that uncovers the myths and legends of Fiji. While this island nation is widely celebrated for its breathtaking scenery and appeal to tourists, few are aware of the rich stories and histories that lie beneath its idyllic surface.

I was tasked with creating a travel brochure based on a small country selected from a given list, with full freedom to decide its content. I chose Fiji, initially because of its popularity as a tourist destination. However, as I delved deeper into my research, I discovered a wealth of myths and legends that remain largely unknown to both visitors and those yet to explore the island.

This project was created with the aim of attracting tourists interested in discovering what lies behind Fiji. I explored this through the use of typography, small illustrations, and experimentation with visual hierarchy. Throughout the process, I developed multiple drafts, often starting over from scratch when a concept didn’t align with my vision. I wanted to capture a sense of mystery that would intrigue viewers and spark their curiosity. After further research and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I eventually arrived at the idea of presenting the brochure as a confidential journal, an approach that combined both storytelling and design to draw the audience in.
