I was tasked with designing an infographic centered on a chosen musical instrument, weaving together its story with compelling visuals. The goal was to inform readers about the instrument’s history, cultural significance, and lasting impact through clear, engaging graphic storytelling.
Focus Points
Various characters and visual elements werechosen to bring the banjo’s story to life. Featured at the center are iconic figures who left a significant mark on its history, including the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin and the beloved Muppets character, Kermit the Frog.
I chose the banjo for this project because, while it isn’t the most well-known instrument around the world, its journey to fame is fascinating. As I dug into its history, I found myself hooked and wanted to share what I had learned. To tell the story, I included characters who played a big role in making the banjo popular at different points in time. The colour scheme was inspired by one of them, Kermit the Frog, from the Muppets. By blending historical facts with illustrations, I wanted the infographic to be both informative and fun to look at.
